Summer's coming to an end, with that I begin my new blog. Let me give you some background on me. My name is Alex, im 20 years old and I am passionate about basketball. Im an espn junkie, and spend as much time as I can on the sport. I play basketball as much as I can, Im also a local referee to high schools. Having said that lets talk some ball, right now being the off season there really isnt that much going on in the nba (other than signings), but the olympics are in full swing. Having seen every exhibition game team U.S.A. has played in, im lacking some sleep. I wont go over the past ones, but today which was against Angola was an ok game to watch. Alot of highlights but it was a blowout, it was expected. My focus right now is on how team U.S.A. is playing as a team. Their very next game is against Greece, which was the team that beat them two years ago in Japan. So far theyve been doing good, but this will be their first test. Greece has some good guards that will test Kidds defense, and Pauls size. Due to that we might see a little bit more of Deron Williams. Overall I am beyond happy with team U.S.A.'s play, looks like its the best team in the past 10 years.

Id also like to talk about the recent trend to see NBA players or future players heading to europe for more money. In the imidate future they might make more money, and dominate the league, but i think once a player plays in the NBA and they go over to europe where the level of play isnt the same ( mid to low college level at best ), they will want to come back and take less money to play in the best league in the world. Besides players like Josh Childress are a dime a dozen. If we are ever to see a player leave for a foreign club, it would be for a insulting amount of money, for two years at the most.
Not really much going on right now in the basketball world but I would like to add that Im going to get myself some Hyperdunks. Heard alot about them and sounds like the best basketball shoes ever made. And at 110 they arent that bad.
I will try posting everyday or everyother day, for now i will leave you with a thought. Should the NBA get rid of the salary cap in order to help teams maintain better control of their lineup????
